This is very trivial but just niggling at me. A family member whos training to be a hairdresser invited me to get my hair done, as it was classes I presumed there would be no charge and planned on throwing her a few bob. When I got there I was asked what I wanted etc and ended up getting just a trim as I felt kind of talked out of what i'd been thinking about and because it was a class I felt under compliment. Family member said they'd book me in for a few weeks for the restyle I wanted, at that stage they'd be trained up. I thought i'd just go with it they were all excited and full of enthusiasm, so wanted to give them my encouragement. The salon charged me. (not full price) I didn't give the family member anything because I already paid the salon and would have had to go back in a few weeks which would cost me more money, and might have to visit a hairdresser in the mean time. I am itching to go and get something done with my hair and don't want to have to wait the few weeks to get it done. Should I just go and get it done and text the family member??

when my sister was doing her hairdressing training i went in as guinea pig for some of her classes.... thankfully she did a decent job... but now she has to train in apprentices... the apprentice didn't do such a great job but they didnt charge me ... luckily my sister fixed it up later that evening. when my sister asked me to go in to help her with more apprentice training classes i politely declined. She said "fair enough". Be honest with her... let her know you werent happy with the last time and how she could improve by listening to what you want rather than what she wants as this is an important skill they need to learn.. do what the customer wants not what you want. Also the salon shouldn't have charged you if they used ya as a guinea pig for training.

It's hair, it grows. Their chances to cut your hair are not limited. Go get it done yourself.
