Was it just me, or did last night's SS group have the hammer down nearly all the way around? I was finding it tough to just ride through on the up and overs. Please tell me other people felt the same.

    Any boardsies in the placings?

Sl for me was just fine. Nice and sedate. I wasn't in the group that got away but for me it was about getting round in a group.
Did a bit of work up the front as well well well as I was getting cold sitting on the back. I know there was one from each club in the break, but that doesn't mean you pootle around.
Thankfully it felt nice and safe, so hopefully we can continue with that.

Was good fun yesterday on the SL, went on the attack early, few joined me and created the winning breakway but very soon I was dropped because I suck. I hate that bloody windy uphill bridge as much as I hate tomatoes, and that's a lot. At least I managed to stay and finish along with the buch sprint but I was suffering at spots. Doing distances and not intervals or speed work does not really help either.

Yeah wa a hammer fest right enough. Second lap too, as it was full of attacks. I ran out of wheels to shelter behind on the run up to the sprint, and got left out front so had nothing when it all kicked off.

Surprised there wasn't a crash to be honest, there was one particular rider who I can only assume has vertigo or something, as he was all over the fcukin place. Nearly took a couple of people down a few times on the main road when he was adjusting his shoes and was swerving all over the place. Twat.

That typo brings instantly to mind terrible long-buried memories of Glenroe and now your username is linked with the image of Miley Byrne in my head (and I have to assume that you ride your bike in wellies and a donkey jacket):

That's alright then, I can feel a bit better. Strava also backs me up, with a pile of May 17s on the leaderboard. I didn't really have any special in the legs, but got a good workout. Bridged gaps a couple of times, did some chasing. On the last lap down the main road, with an Usher and a LCRC out front, it was five or six Orwell on the front doing all the work. I think we were all cooking, but niceonetom had a nice leadout at least. :D

Finished about 15th or so myself, in the bunch. Wrecked on the way home. Don't know if I'm made for racing after a day in the office.

Do you know who they are - could you identify them to their club? I mean, with all the new stricter rules, maybe it's time people got official warnings from on high.

Ken, I was on the league committee last year, and I can assure you that complaints about dangerous riding and unsporting behaviour are taken very seriously. The race organisers will often have no way of knowing what has gone on in a bunch if no one reports it. While dealing with it certainly isn't the nicest part of the job, I think the clubs would much prefer to know if someone is causing problems. At the end of the day, we all want a safe racing environment. So drop your club league rep a line and let them know.

That was a tough one in SS last night, that's for sure

First time on the flyover, on the first lap, felt the stitch coming on again. Going to put up a separate post about that and see if anyone has any thoughts - it's very frustrating that it keeps reoccurring.

Decided to try to just get around and see if the stitch would die down, I tried a few things I'd been reading about, and by the time we hit the summerhill road the first time I was feeling a bit better, but it was still lingering. Coming onto the second lap it was gone, but I was nervous about pushing it at first in case it came back.

When the attacks started I couldn't help myself, got involved with a few with niceonetom and Mr.Grieves, along with some Usher guys, but they didn't stick.

On the summerhill road when the 2 lads got away, I was sure we'd catch them, but we were all cooking up the front, and being pretty silly about how we were chasing them. Still - it was a very good workout for a Thursday evening, which is more or less what I'm using the club league for this year.

Positioned ok coming up the sprint, didn't have anything left in the legs though, rolled over around 10th

Good night out in limit, still only new to the league last night was my second race, found the up and overs tough enough on the legs but still had that final bit of energy in the legs for the final sprint. Was about 6-7 back when the sprint went, got on the wheel of some lad, then pulled out and went for it, managed a 2nd which was happy with. Then limped my way back to the car, safe to say the legs are tired today

Managed 8th in SS by pure luck. Was boxed in when most went for the sprint, when I got a bit of space those who went too early were moving backwards so I made up a few places.

Pace was high, though not as high as 2 weeks ago. Like others I thought we were catching the 2 guys up the road. Didn't ride a very smart race. Didn't have the legs to chase any attack without bringing everyone with me.
