Anyone got the new shape one of these in commercial, the 2004 onward one?
I saw a few of them for sale, say ones like this http://www.donedeal.ie/for-sale/commercials/3298772
The money seems very reasonable I don't think you`d get a Trooper or Pajero of that year for the same money so what's the catch?

I'm on my third one and I love it. I don't know of any catch unless you are doing high mileage, then they become very expensive to run.

Whats the story with the permanent 4wd, they say its computer controlled but does it work I wonder? Also the Air suspension does it give trouble????

I have permanent 4WD on my Landcruiser. As the name says, there is power going to all 4 wheels at all times.
I drove the air-suspension Discovery, like driving on air...:D . very confortable. I heard they do give trouble though, the compressor goes in them or something.

Do you buy them new/newish though and sell before they get to high mileage? A decent s/h one would suit me as a 2nd car - maybe 2006ish. Land Rovers in general don't have a great reputation for reliability.

I've bought new each time, the air suspension makes it the most comfortable 4x4 out there and yes the 4wd is on all the time.

The best gadget on it though is the controlled descent mechanism, when you are driving down a very steep bank you hit a button and it drives itself down , cool :)

I have spent a small fortune keeping them maintained but I do about 1200kms a week and they are not made for that. Savage on juice too.
