In my upcoming system i'm going to to have an 120GB SSD and a 500GB HDD.
It's gonna be on a z77 motherboard so i will have access to Intel SRT. I may be installing some games on my HDD if i run out of space on my SSD so in which case i am wondering

    1. Is it possible to use the SSD as my maiin drive for OS and programs then use part of the disk say as a cache for my HDD to speed up performance in games or progs installed on the HDD.

    2. Or would i be best say getting a 32GB SSD and using a second SSD to do this

Never used it, actually have a compatible board (Z68) but no SSD, no real need for one.....my samsung spinpoint is fast enough.:pac:

Though with falling SSD prices I may get one.

is that not just 7200rpm??? the difference my SSD made to my laptop is amazing. boot time cut but over 60% and everything is instantaneous. well worth running the OS off it..

as soon as my parts arrive and i build it i'll post how it goes..
