Which teams do you think have the strongest and weakest driver pairings this season?

    I'll go for:

    Strongest: McLaren.

    Weakest: HRT.

I initially said Ferrari were the weakest, but looking back at it now, their not.

Weakest I would say is HRT with De La Rosa and Karthikyan.

DLR was very good in his prime but I would put him outside the top 10 drivers on the grid nowadays. And then he's paired with Karthikyan who I would rate as the worst driver on the grid.

Ferrari can't be the weakest. They have Alonso who is making up for it! :D

Worst drivers would be (remembering that they're still F1 drivers :pac:):
Caterham and Virgin. HRT aren't the worst drivers, just way passed their use by date.

Both Lotus driver appear to be strong

Yeah, you can't really call it a weak pairing when Alonso is one of the two drivers! McLaren definitely has the strongest, and I'd say HRT have the weakest. Karthikeyan has never really shown much speed in F1.

I disagree. Alonso is crushing Massa. Out of the 63 points Ferrari have scored so far, it was Alonso who scored the lions share.

But the question is about driver pairings.

Put DLR+Karthikyen in the Ferrari and they will score less points overall than Alonso+Massa. Therefore Alonso+Massa cannot be the absolute worst pairing.

I agree wih that. Karthikeyan is without doubt the worst driver on the grid and is only there because of the money he brings.

All he did there was get a better run out of La Source and then pass Villeneuve by cutting the corner? I can't see anything special about that.

I would agree with you if you were asking which driver pairing was the most imbalanced, but strongest/weakest is another matter!

    You're right.

I think the weakest pairing on the grid is HRT.

Yeah, I really dislike that HRT team. Not to sure on the Marussia or Caterham drivers either.

Outside of Red Bull and McLaren, Lotus and Sauber seem to have good driver pairings.

With regard to money you can say that about a lot of the drivers. I actually think the Marussia line up is pretty strong. Both drivers proved their stuff in GP2 to a fair extent. Williams looks a bit unbalanced with Senna in there. Catherham have Petrov and HRT have Karthikeyan.

The strongest would be Lotus, McLaren and I think Toro Rosso. Would like to see Vergne in a stronger car (and Ricciardo).
