Getting my first car in about 2-3 weeks, Budget is small but can be stretched to around 1800-2000 if needs be. Liked the look of Peugeot 307s but from reading on here there apparently shite. Am mad about an e46 316 around 2000-2001 but from reading on here they don't seem to be great either.. Did they come in a 1.6 version because i can't see them anywhere.

Any idea's for something in that price bracket, What i want is a nice modern enough interior that would be comfortable to be in every day, And something easy enough on petrol.

    Thanks

e46 316 was actually a 1.8 I believe. And they're not up to much, you might struggle with insurance(presuming you dont have much experience).

E46 316i from 1998 to early 2001 was actually 1.9 litre. It was replaced in mid 2001 with a more powerful 1.8 litre engine in the facelifted model.

If its a first car I would be looking at something like a Fiesta 1.25 or Focus 1.4. Reliable, reasonable fuel efficient and plentiful.

Important things when you are on a budget.
