    Cliffs:
    1. Film from the 1980's.
    2. Dark Fantasy type Genre
    3. Castles and snow.
    4. Old man with bushy grey hair gets stuck in a hole.

This is longish but do bear with me please.:)

The only type of genre I can attach it to through a very foggy memory of it, would be dark fantasy type thing.

It had a Dr Zhigavo kinda feel to it, but obviously on a different slant to that being a little more mystical etc.

It was definatley a Film, cant remember if it was British, US or foreign?
Cant really remember much other than it being a buildings like castles with snow everywhere and an old man with bushy grey hair getting stuck in a hole. Dont know why that stuck in my mind??

I remember watching it with a friend many many years ago as a kid and was utterly mesmorised by it and would love to watch it again, for it holds a door for me to be very indulgently reminiscent.

Anyone who leads me to it will be a friend for life! This one has me stumped my whole adult life!

This was taken from a post here:
