Looking at a monopod and head with quick plate recommendation. Preferably something compact and a 100 euro budget would be nice.
    Looking to support a Sigma 70-200mm f2.8
    Any help appreciated

For a Sigma (or other brand) 70-200mm straight-through f2.8.. big lens (I've got a Tamron. I love it. Wanted the Sigma, but couldn't find anyplace that could actually get it for me in a reasonable time... wow, that's a big aside!) you don't want a cheap monopod. Make sure you get something rock solid.
I'm partial to Manfrotto.. maybe just because it's what I have for a tripod.

How are the manfrotto compact series? Recommend any particular head to go with it?

I have a Manfrotto 680B Compact Monopod. It's sturdy, well made, and I like it.

I use it with my Sony 70-400G, which is just a little bigger than the Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 you're using.

Regarding heads, have a Manfrotto RC2 plate permanently mounted on both my camera and the 70-400 lens tripod mount, so the natural ting for me was to go with a compatible Manfrotto head. When I bout the monopod, it came with a free Manfrotto 234 Monopod Tilt Head (no quick release plate), but I also bought a Manfrotto 234RC Monopod Tilt Head (the difference is a quick release plate). The 234RC tilts left/right (for portrait/landscape)- but I actually prefer the head to tilt forward/backward, so I use the regular 234 with Manfrotto 323 Rectangular Quick Release Plate mounted in such a way that the head tilts the way I want. I've just confused myself with these stupid product numbers, so forgive me if I've confused you.

    ^^^ What phutyle said.

I have the same setup. Works well, not that I use it too often, but it's a fairly versatile combo. It supports my Nikon 70-200 f2.8 perfectly well.
