    :D:) Time to move on.
SCGC is back up and running. Same course, most of the same guys (hopefully). Annual subs now at an acceptable level, the days of €1500 pa are gone in most places. The course will now be owned by the former leasees. They will have an excellent product which hopefully they will manage and market wisely. Not landlords but proprietors.
The members of SCGC , which will be still fully affiliated , and run by our own committee, will be now free of trying to balance budgets, meet bankers, insure and cost the whole facility.
We can just go out and enjoy our golf.
To the few posters who did a bad job hiding their smug delight in seeing us in trouble....eh..love to help you lads.
Personally, it was money well spent over the last 10 years..I couldn't go out and buy the good times I had.
Here's to the next 10 years, mirabile dictu

I doubt bank lent to a company against a lease as only tangible security.... please clarify fo me:confused:

got to agree with that ..played yesterday morning and place had a ghost town feel to it. course wasn't too bad.. rough was a little long and fairways could do with a dose of fungicide.. don't think much more will happen until after liquidater is appointed :(

Have they started the direct debit system or are they still charging €10?

I was going to head up at the weekend - do I need to have my direct debit set up prior to playing or can I do it when I get there?

I think the landlord will be doing well to be give the go ahead to set up DD mandates. I know banks are not giving them out to easy at present.

its 15 euro if you where on direct debit, but if you paid your sub in full then you only pay 10 still good value and the course looks real good with grass cut.
