    Hi All,

I know this probably cuts accross a few different sections but I'm planning on moving to carragh, Co. Kildare and just wondering if anyone knows the best providers for the above items?

I currently live in clondalkin and have all three with UPC but have spoken to them and they only have aerial tv available in Carragh.

If I could get all three with the one provider it would make things easier but really I'm looking for the best value (and connection when it comes to internet).

    Thanks for your help!

I doubt you will be able to get all 3 from one provider.

The TV choice you will probably have are:

    -Sky: Min 25 per month

-UPC: MMDS TV service around the same price, not as good, with no phone nor TV

-Saorview Freesat: No Monthly charge. All the favourite channels except pay channels. Ability to record, but not as slick as a Sky box. Series link on UK channels, About 30 good channels. No option of pay for sports, pay movies etc. Once off say 300 euro for really good setup. Best value TV for the money.

Broadband: Any phone landline based broadband heavily depends on your distance from the exchange. Given a phone number they can normally estimate the maximum speed the line can handle. You don't need to go with Eircom, but all other providers simply re-use Eircoms lines and are a bit cheaper.

The exchange in Carragh is broadband enabled. If you visit this site:
    http://www.eircomwholesale.ie/

and click on coverage map. Then tick broadband BNB, then select the location of the house, you can see the distance as the crow flies between the house and the exchange. You can then add a bit and look online to see what speed you could expect. Alternatively get a phone number of the house or the next door neightbour.

Wimax: Ring Imagine and see if it is an option. The broadband can slow a lot. They combine this with a phone line. Not good broadband compared to UPC but then you cannot get UPC. Eircom may be much faster if you are close to exchange.

There are often other local wireless companies. Normally most of these do not have a fabulous service. It often slows during peak times.

    Have a look here:
    http://www.callcosts.ie/home/default.asp

    at all the companies available.

If you can get very good broadband consider using a VOIP company such as http://www.blueface.ie to make calls, rather than using Eircom. However you need good internet.

That probably won't help the OP, Orange never got a licence here (though not for want of trying and a JR action) while Talk Talk pulled out a while back. Think we might try to help the OP with what is available...
