KoR whitening

I've read a lot about this, and it seems to be the most effective whitening system currently available.

My question is, I don't know if my teeth are "stained" or if they're just permanently yellow-y. They've been more or less this colour since they grew in when I was a kid, unfortunately - my parents' teeth are the same colour.

In that case, would it still be worth it to shell out for it? It's apparently effective even on tetracycline-stained teeth...

On a related note, anyone know what the story with the yellowness is? Some people have said it's due to thicker enamel/dentine, others say thinner...none of these people were dentists, though, so I'd love to hear from the professionals.

I got KOR done last year, it works very well.

Guy in my job just had his teeth done with some other product and there is no difference. I told them to do the KOR but do they listen?

Can't comment on anything else cause I don't have a clue.

Tetracycline-stained teeth - this intrigues me?

What are tetracycline-stained teeth, I have been taken tetracycline tablets, various types for three months straight and now have just gotten another prescription for them for a few months and could be on them long term depending on how they work for me.

If these friggin tablets reverse my KOR and make my teeth look bad, grrrrrrr I will have to ask my dental peeps about this.

Tetracycline is one of the ingredients in Corsydol mouthwash. Have no idea what it does but it does say not to use the mouthwash for an extended period or it will stain your teeth.

I would imagine taking the tablets wont have any impact

    Thanks!

    Just read this below.

Medications. The antibiotics tetracycline and doxycycline are known to discolor teeth when given to children whose teeth are still developing (before the age of 8). Mouth rinses and washes containing chlorhexidine and cetylpyridinium chloride can also stain teeth. Antihistamines (like Benadryl), antipsychotic drugs, and drugs for high blood pressure also cause teeth discoloration.

So I think I'm safe, unless I get pregnant and don't know it then I will have to send my baby for some KOR when it grows up!

if your teeth are simply very yellow (like your parents) there should be no problem whitening them and kor deep bleaching is the most effective method. If they are stained, that will come off with a good cleaning.

As for why do some people have teeth that are more yellow than others, it's a bit like asking why is your nose bigger than your friend's.

Tetracycline staining can vary considerably. Some are easy to whiten and others much more difficult. All can be vastly improved however.
