Are you a welder? If you are you could be a handy man to know.

Not by profession. But I have a mig and tig (dc) welder so if it was something small to weld up I would be happy to to it. If it some panels or patches to be welded in that is not for me.

Depends if it was structural or not, on or off the car?

exhaust pipe on the car has snapped off the bracket holding it up, its still on the car and is ok but its annoying everytime i go over a ramp. A pretty small job i think. Dublin 15 based

I would imagine you will need a ramp to get at the bracket. Easy enough job to do. Have you tried the any of the exhaust places. A word of warning though these type of repairs will on last a short time as you a likely to get rusting in the area of the weld. But you will buy some time.

rust? so what would you do in that circumstance? new exhaust? :(

i've tried local garages ect, each time they tell me they 'use to do that' but not now

Depending on how bad it rusts you chould weld it again.

Try out some of the exhaust specialists

Wrap a sleeve around it and weld to that, wonder is the insurance putting people off the welding jobs.

I used to do that sort of welding, but not anymore, well not until 9 in the morning. D15 a bit far though! Most Garages won't weld anymore because of the risk of frying stuff of a computerish nature. That's actually just down to bad practice(poor earths etc) but the bigger risk is setting the thing on fire, which is ever-present. I weld a lot of exhausts, a lot of chassis too, but it is a sort of charity type thing, I do it because people ask me to, not because it pays the bills, etc.:)
