Cost of installing water softener

Like the title says I am just wondering if anyone knows the cost of installing a standard water softener under the Kitchen sink or a similiar cabinet. Major problem with Limescale clogging up the shower and other machines.

http://www.ewtechnologies.ie/ might be a place to start. they offered some system on one of the deal ites recently. I looked into it but decided against it due to ongoing costs involved.
