There's details here on the different anthologies that each of the 3 installments of the story come in:

    http://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Dunk_and_Egg

They can be found in the usual places on-line also. ;)

I have Audiobook copies too, but they're not read by Roy Dotrice :(

His next Dunc and Egg novella has been delayed - his next ASoIaF Novella is The Princess an the Queen in Dangerous Women (coming Dec 2013)

I thought it was called The She-Wolves of Winterfell

Once released, I think that they are going to release all four tales of D&E in one volume. Might be worth waiting for rather than buying them all seperately. They are available from other sources while you wait.

I thought the final novella was called The She-Wolves of Winterfell too.

I always wanted to buy them but settled for pdf version a friend sent me since I don't want to fork out €80+ them.

I hope they release the 4 volumes in one at some stage.

I happened to have all 3 in the original anthologies, not because I was even aware of GRRM at the time, I just happened to have those books. But I got the pdf versions recently and had a reread.

It would be nice to see them in their own volume alright.

Pretty sure GRRM said recently that 'She-Wolves' was never a a title, but Winterfell was the next location for Dunk and Egg. 'The Princess and The Queen' isn't a D&E story, its about what happened leading up to the Dance of the Dragons.

Having read them all, they're great stories in their own right, looking at Westeros' and the Targaryen lines past, especially regarding the Blackfyres and figures like Bloodraven, Baelor Breakspear, or Aemon's father Maekar. Graphic novels are worth a look too after reading the novellas, good interpretations of the scenes.

AFAIK, GRRM doesn't intend to finish the DunK and Egg with a fourth. He's said before that he'd like to follow them all the way up through (Dunk and Egg spoiler for those who haven't read ASOIAF closely):
Dunk becoming Lord Commander of the Kingsguard and their eventual demise at Summerhall

The last book would be a bit pointless given that everyone dies at the end and anyone reading it would probably already know that.

Id still like to know the how as well as the what.

Nevermind what could happen in such a mysterious event (from our current level of knowledge of what happened at Summerhall) that might affect the wider ASOIAF world, e.g. Aegon manages to live up to his childhood nickname and manages to fertilise 3 dragon eggs to be hatched by one of his ancestors i.e. (s)he who was promised... ;)

It's one of three events i'd love more detail one

    -Summerhall tradegy (259 AL)
-Tourney at Harrenhall / Knight of the laughing tree (281 AL)
    -Tower of Joy (283 AL)

Still quite a few books before Dunk & Egg get to Summerhall though, so we'll probably learn about them in reverse order

I'd imagine that because the events of the books are quite dependent on the two latter ones they'll probably be fleshed out in the main books -
both would pertain to Rheagar+Lyanna=Jon Snow

There are many many years and big events between Winterfell and Summerhall. Coronations, wars, rebellions, so hopefully we'll get the account of some of those.

I also hope HBO follow through with the talks for the Dunk and Egg stories. Get Ian Whyte clean shaven as Dunk and find another brilliant child actor and it'd be gold.

He looks a bit old! Dunk would be hard to cast, not many blunked up young guns out there. Apparently The Hegde Knight inspired A Knights Tale, there's a lot of similarities.

Yeah, I just went for Whyte considering he already has a relationship with the show and fits the physical characteristics. It coming to fruition in any way would make me happy!

I kinda don't want to read about Summerhall, seeing Dunk go would be too sad :(

Tower of Joy, however, would be AMAZING! I really want to see Howland Reed go at them with his net and spear!

It was never divulged who the knight of the Laughing Tree was, was it?

Wasn't it Lyanna? Pretty dure it was confirmed somewhere. If not, it was very heavily implied.

It would be silly if she was. We know she was "part-horse" but that's only half the battle. We'd also need to believe that a 13 year old girl could wear man's armour, hold a lance and all that jazz.

We don't know the extent of her martial training. We do know through bran seeing back in time through the weirwoods that she appears to be besting Benjen at one point with swords.

Also it's stated several times throughout the books that jousting is mostly to do with good horsemanship.

Maybe we'll get more information in this World of Ice and Fire book due out this year.

You any guesses as to who it may be?

It follows logically from a plot point that it's Lyanna (from what I recall). It's just that having a little girl don armour and a lance is just something that I couldn't suspend my disbelief for. I think the 90% of jousting is horsemanship thing only applies if it's already a given that the jouster isn't a weak little girl - she'd just be a non starter. It'd be like if Tyrion was an excellent horseman - he still wouldn't be able to hold a 12ft lance.

She wasn't Brienne-sized so unless the biological differences between men and women don't apply in Westeros it just wouldn't make much sense.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was her but I'm hoping it's a red herring.
