Any other boardsies doing this? It's got a reputation as a very fast course and always seems to get a high quality field (131 out of 279 were sub 20 last year ) so hopefully I should be able to get under 20 mins for the first time myself.

It's one of my favourite 5k races.
It's a very fast, flat course but you'd want to allow a bit of time to get to the start as it's about a mile or so from race HQ

Great race as always. If anyone from the club is reading this you badly need to sort out the start. It was chaos at best. Still great course and well run.

Great race. Agree about the chaotic start. The road was quite narrow for the amount of people there and bunching everyone over to one side to let traffic by didn't help people get into the correct position for the start.

The course doesn't seem to be any easier than other 5k's I've done but always seems to produce fast times and PB's but it's not pancake flat by any means.

Anyway I achieved my sub 20 target with a time of 19:47 so happy out

https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.3962505779535.170870.1187064772&type=1 lotsa photos up here! Including one of me that I look like a total trainwreck in ha, that's defo not getting tagged :P.

But yep, great race, very well organized other then the bit of chaos at the start, but in fairness it shouldn't have effected anyones times etc.

In terms of the course being superquick, last year was an exception, there supposedly was a gale force wind behind ya going down that straight road from 2-4k, but even still, it certainly is a quick flat course with very few bends on it. Another similar course coming up, down that neck of the woods also is the St. Coca Kilcock 5k at the end of June!

Great race, second year doing it and equally good I thought. Great atmosphere, location and spread afterwards. The start was a little hectic, but if you move the start to a wider area then the course is unlikely to be as quick. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think it was chip timed at the start - only the finish. If it was then then this would be perfect. My daughter also ran her first road race last night and had a great experience. Well done to all involved, we'll be back again next year.

Enjoyed this race. Enough has been said about the start so I'll say no more. Course is fast but its no faster than other 5k's ive run, guess having few corners is were you can make time and most importantly, it was spot on distance wise. Good food afterwards. Great to run a race with some heat in the air.:D
