    Hi All,

I recently transported my pc and tried to start it up in new location. Unfortunately it will start to boot, but shuts down after about 3 seconds. I opened it up and I had to reseat the cpu fan/heatsink. When I boot I don't hear any beeps, and code on mboard is 9.9. (Abit AW8).

I have tried resetting the CMOS by removing the battery on the mboard.

    Any ideas? Thanks

Sorry not that advanced, don't know what that means! Just to add to first post, when i start initially it will stay powered for approx 3/4 seconds, and if I attempt to start it again immediately it stays on for less time, approx 1 second.

Could be a thermal protection issue, did you check/renew the thermal paste between CPU and heatsink, and check clips holding down heatsink ?

Fairplay Bonzo, put some paste between on heatsink/cpu and it stays on!!
    Thanks.
However, now a different problem - no display on the monitor! Monitor says that there is no signal coming from PC. monitor set to dvi as source, all seems ok. tried unplugging and reseating graphics card etc, no joy.

    any ideas? thanks
