The best/ most difficult/ biggest effort car restorations

I was looking up this VW Samba that was dredged up from a Norwegian fjord after 30 years

As you can see the chap has managed get the bus driving again but there is still a long way to go.

It got me wondering about mammoth restoration efforts

Anybody have any good photos/links of really rotten cars that were restored to their former glory??

(do any air-cooled fans know if the Samba resto has progressed, I have been unable to find any 2012 updates ?)

It's not a restoration as such but the Lexibug really flabbers my ghast.

Maybe not the most difficult but definitely the most comprehensive and detailed rebuild resto I have ever read by an Irish guy of his E30 M3

I dont know, but its the most meticulous build of any car iv ever seen. Just the work that was done to build the shell alone is mental.

It is one crazy machine , will something like this be road legal when finished and what reg would it have since the chassiss is new . Can it be still classed as over 30 years old?
