    Hi,

Have been doing alot of miles on the road, think its time for a leg massage.

Anyone get a leg massage in dublin?
    Any recommendations?
    Am working close to UCD

Am curious to know if other runners get leg massages & how often.

    Thanks in advance

Get a foam roller and use it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJLxruO3su0 save money.

I generally go to Karen Doyle and find her very good. I've a foam roller too... it ain't the same as a deep tissue leg massage! When I was doing a lot of mileage and racing went every 2/3 weeks, it was really dependent on how much running I was doing and how tired my legs were.
Karen is based on seafield avenue near the Montrose http://www.mapleclinic.ie/

    Thanks for replies.

Last leg massage I got was €50...thought it was little pricey

I might given Karen a shout.

Maybe a bit of a silly question but when do you decide it's time for a leg massage. Have found of late that my legs can feel sore or lethargic first thing in the mornings.

I know people who've gone for massages and returned with stories of the physio telling them that a certain muscle was 'knotted' or tight etc. Presumably, a proper massage will 'reset' the muscles as such?

"when do you decide it's time for a leg massage"?

last couple of runs I feel the legs are just a little stiffer than normal
same stretches, same diet ,more or less same running schedule etc..
but imo..a runner just knows his/her own body & personally I think my legs just need a massage, just freshem them up.
Some people might say take a week off...but as you pointed out, the physio will usually point out when u get a leg massage that your legs seem "tight"

each to their own I suppose

I've been meaning to try this guy - the price might suit you better than €50. He charges €35 for 60 minutes. A girl in the changing room told me she thought he was great but I don't think she's a runner.
