beginner but fairly handy generally with all things mechanical and diy would like to start polishing and detailing my own and maybe mates cars too....have been looking on ebay for an ideal setup...what I have learned so far is that I need a dual action polisher, various pads and polish obviously but there seems to be millions of makes/types out there and mostly big money, guessing a decent all-in kit is what I'm after - its not a fad, I can see myself getting into it as a proper detailer eventually..this is why I want to choose wisely and if I'm gonna spend a few quid get it right! so far from what I can see Maguiars seem to be the top end gear and they do kits...but it's very top money. can anyone advise alternatives, help or give me some clues?

    thanks
    Martin
