USB audio thing.

Hey, not sure if right forums but don't know any better section where so many drivers are
Basically I bought a car yesterday, and it has only CD player, I want to have like USB music player. Any way to get that done? Do I need to buy whole new player with USB support? my friend said there is some kind of device you plug it into cigarrete lighter slot and plug in usb and it like overtakes or takes over the player and plays music from usb, if there are these then what are they called? also mods if it's wrong section can you move it?

What you can get is this (or something like it).

You can also get stereos with usb support (you just load tunes on to a memory key and plug it directly in to the port on the stereo).

You tune that to the same station as the radio (preferably one that's not in use by another) and plug it in to the audio/earphone jack of your mp3 player.

what car is it ? you may be better off changing the stereo.

is your best option for all vehicles. its hard wired in so interference isnt as much of an issue as with those itrip yokes

From my experience your options are:
(a) get a parrot car kit like http://www.parrot.com/usa/products/bluetooth-hands-free-car-kits
or(b) get a different radio with USB built in. I have a JVC unit which also has bluetooth - works well with USB receiver out of the way in the glovebox.
