Not a classic motors query as such but I reckon this is where the knowledge is! I have an old Record vice that's missing a small bolt and I wonder if any of you guys know where I might source a suitable replacement. I'm looking for a 3/16" Whitworth bolt (at least that's what I think it is), head of the bolt measures 11.33mm across the flats (and does fit a 3/16" Whitworth spanner), bolt diameter is 6.27mm and overall bolt length (threaded section) is 13mm (obviously this is not critical as I can shorten a longer one). I don't have the die or capability to cut down an existing bolt to suit so ideally I want to pick up a bolt which may just require shortening. Where would I get 1 such bolt? Thanks

I'd try 'Stationary Engine Parts', they have all types of Whitworth nuts bolts and studs, and you can get them posted over

I think you have a 1/4 BSF as you have a 1/4 dia shank but it shares the Whitworth 3/16 head at 11.3mm AF. It should have 26threads per inch (as opposed to 20TPI for a BSW).
There are loads on the net (esp UK modelmakers and old engine lads) or it should be got handy enough in Ireland, maybe an auto factor or agri man, or Marks Models?

Thanks for the advice there, I'll give them all a shot and see what happens.
