Is he trying to portray himself as the viewers friend ??

He really is a poor television presenter.

He really gets worked up over bad planning and badly built houses, more so than say, the Bank bailouts or Government Corruption for some reason.

He was definitely moving from chairing the debate to giving his personal opinion there, he must have been watching a bit of Fox News recently.

One would have thought that seeing as he was going to be on telly that Wallace would change his clothes after he came off the building site.

The more I see of Wallace the more I think the people of Wexford owe the rest of us a big apology.

My god.. did you hear that.. The council have a web page to find out whether your house is on a flood plain or not... In lieu of them actually having checked this out BEFORE GRANTING PERMISSION for building the house... If really is an absolute joke..

Well, you can't tar every one with the same brush, I take it you mean the voting public of Wexford and the ones in Wexford that voted for him:rolleyes: Not everyone in Wexford voted for Wallace.

Wallace - "Yes, it was a bad system".

Nothing has changed. The system is still the same.

The only difference is that nobody has the money to milk the system anymore.

Planning, like a lot of other things, is a disaster in this country.

We learn nothing in this country, really we don't, it's time to rip up the constitution and start anew.

    Nope. I blame the kids.

    From phrases.org.uk

    Pester power

    Meaning

The power children have, by repeated nagging, of influencing their parents to buy advertised or fashionable items,or vote for men in colourful shirts. ;)

Bribes going around at every level, no interest in decent planning. just build and be damned, houses not fit for animals.

We will be a long time paying for the scandal of the Building Boom

Unfortunately some will pay with their lives ....

And when it does happen these builders, planners, architects, fire officers etc should all be jailed - regardless if they retired, gone bust or whatever get out of jail card they wish to play ......

Who is the guy with the glasses in the audience that they keep cutting to?

Not that there wasnt enough people employed to do inspections, more that there was no will to shift the multiple thousands of public sector workers doing shag all into the appropiate departments.

I'd say Pat invested in properties on flood plains somehow. He never gets as worked up about anything else.

Very depressing watching that. I learned nothing really new but makes you think about the stupidity of the Irish people. Can you imagine a German or Brittish person watching that - "local authority did not supervise any part of construction"?

Also disgraceful to think that all of these managers, planners, county council workers etc etc are all being protected by The Croke Park Agreement... Not one of them will be fired or taken to account for badly doing a job that they have been well remunerated for...

Agree completely. I was not personally impacted so can only imagine the anger of those that were. They will go on about how they were not told about flood or other excuse - either have no morals in that they don't give a **** about person who ends up living in it or they were too stupid. Whichever, they should be fired.
