App problem

    Hey all,
I've a problem with the Sky Sports News app on my Samsung Galaxy Ace, starting about two weeks ago. The app usually refreshes every time I enter it, giving the latest sports news at that time. But in the past fortnight it's been stuck on the news from that day, and won't refresh even when I try to do it manually. Uninstalled and reinstalled but still the same. Tried it again today and it miraculously refreshed for me, but tonight I was back to the same problem. Eventually realised that when the phone is connected to wifi, it refreshes, but weirdly, in the past two weeks, it won't refresh when on mobile broadband. I'm stumped as to what the problem is, although I'm not a big tech head so it could be a small problem. Any helpers out there?
    Cheers

Any settings in the app to refresh on mobile data?
Not familiar with the app but maybe it's built that way, you could try contract the devs for some support, there's usually a contact address on the app page.

No, the only setting in the app I can see is for the frequency of refreshing it, nothing else. See it always worked on mobile broadband before so the way it just stopped randomly is kinda weird.
    Any other solutions?

I suspect the app is just a container for the Sky Sports RSS feeds, can you go to this site in your phone browser and maybe use it instead?
    http://m.skysports.com
Is there anything specific the app offers over the mobile site I wonder?

I thought the same, tried the website on the mobile but it's fairly different to the app to be honest. I'll email the app developers as soon as I get an address for them sure. Anyone else have any ideas on making it work properly? Cheers BobNiblets!

    Very weird.
Can you clear the app data anad try.

Settings > Apps > Sky Sports > Clear Data.

Weird that it works on Wifi and not 3G.

Tried that there, but no joy again.I know yeah it's really weird, and it just seemed to start randomly - I don't think I was messing around with the settings or anything.

I had the same problem with the Sky Sports app on my HTC wildfire. I also tried re-installing the app with no success. I just removed the app from my phone in the end as it was permanently stuck on news stories from 2nd of May. I prefer the BBC News sports app anyway, better articles but not as colourful as the Sky app

Now that's just weird - they're both stuck on the same date! Maybe it's a problem with the app and not our phones?

Probably. I can't remember if there was an update at that time that would have caused the problem. I'm not that bothered about the loss of my sky sports news app, it was a pretty poor app anyway

Yep, mine is stuck on the same date.

I'm going to flip out soon if it is not fixed

Yeah it only works on wifi for me too. It's really annoying.

Have only looked up this problem now to see if I'm the only one but now I see I'm not alone. Strange how the developers haven't fixed it. Replaced galaxy s with s3 and it's still the same headline. I don't think I'll ever forget the day Cisse stunned the blues!!!

Are you all on the same network by any chance? Is it possible the network is blocking a port or url?

I'm on Meteor anyway and it's still not working.
