    Hi lads,

After several weeks in the pipeline, a fan's tribute to the Christy Moore classic story of Joxer's adventures in Stuttgart is now on Youtube. 'Joxer Goes to Poznan' tells the story of group of supporters who make the trip to Poland for Ireland's Euro 2012 games against Croatia, Spain and Italy - with some unanticipated results! ;)

Anyway have a listen and maybe share it if you like what you hear!

    Thanks,
    Il Trap

Haha I liked it! Love the end. It's much better then the embarrassing rocky road to Poland but I can't understand why someone doesn't write a new and orginal song instead of rehashing an old one

Slight off with the "c" note on the whistle at the start, but besides that it's not bad at all :pac:

I'd say a fair few people have met the former Bohs and Liverpool player called Joxer.

Singing about the future like it's the past, hmmm. The original Joxer was good because it was a memory of a tournament, you can't really do the same before a tournament...

And anyway, June 2012 won't be wet and rainy!

Point taken...its just a fan song anyway. A bit of craic to help get a buzz going. Has been received well in general so far. :)

Ah I'd never go postal when criticising a fan song, it's all about creating a buzz!

Just an update on 'Joxer'. In just three days it has reached 4500 hits on Youtube, has been tweeted by the likes of Simon Cox, Darragh Maloney, Tony O'Donoghue, Jack Grealish and Manuela Spinelli (Trapattoni's translator) and featured on THESCORE.IE yesterday! Thanks all for watching and please keep sharing it etc! :)

I agree. Now that I think of it, during Ireland's golden golden period in 88-90 they only won a single game in normal time at a major championship and we look upon it as the greatest days of the Irish team - which they were, but not particularly because of the amazing scorelines. Ireland have gone back to being low score draw specialists once again and I'd like to hear the chorus being sung loud at the end of a nil all v. Croatia should it occur.

I had an epiphany a few days ago that we could win this thing 0-0.

Three 0-0's in the group matches and the other results go the right way and we squeeze through.
Three more 0-0's and some run good on at penalty shootouts and we are the championnnns.

Paraguay recently got to the Copa America final and they drew every match until the final(5) where they lost final 3-0.

I think it'd be epic to win in such a manner, perhaps without even scoring a goal. :pac:

Yeah we did it on a shoestring of zero. We did decide eventually to pay for it to be mastered!

Andy, the bandcamp download is the mastered version. That is a free download for all of you who are broke/about to be broke due to Euro Fever!

As the song says we get nil, you get (it for) nil!
