    Hi

Myself and my girlfriend will be travelling europe in a 2004 renault trafic van. its not a camper, its just a weekend van but it is classed as a commercial. the trip could be over 30 days.

anybody know of a company which will cover the van for breakdown assist?

    Thanks

The AA perhaps? Although I'm not sure if they cover commercials.

A wise choice looking for breakdown cover for that van though

Maybe look for any insurer from the Continent.
Surely will be waaaaaaay cheaper than any Irish one.

    ADAC maybe.

I've tried the AA already but they don't cover commercials, thanks though.

I was sure there was somewhere some website in english offering ADAC cover for non-german residents.

I personaly always take breakdown assistance for EU travels from Polish company SOS-PZMOT. It used to cost me about 10 to 15 euro for 2 months cover offering the same as AA here for about 150 - 200.
No need to be Polish resident.

thanks, just had a polish friend check it out for me but said they wont cover a commercial vehicle. Did they cover you for a van or car?

In the past when i hire a van to go from uk to ireland the stipulation was i had to get AA 5 star insurance breakdown. I presume you can get it here.

I had it for a car.
You are right - it seems they don't offer commercial assistance cover.
For a car last year I had to buy a membership + their minimum annual cover for Poland (which was about 15 euro per year) + anytime you need EU cover you can buy it for any number of days (minimum 10) at price of 25cents per day - so f.e. 7.5euro for a month.
    But it's only for cars.
