I have an exam coming up this thursday but I havent been to any of the lectures all year. I handed my assignments in on time and got around 60 average. The thing is I am afraid to sit the exam because I've missed so many lectures. What should I do?

Go and sit it... dont sweat it.. study for the next few days and chance it. u may pass and with your assignments u could be ok. Dont forget passing with compensation, if u got 41% or higher in your christmas exams for the same subject u can compensate.:D

you should definitely go, if you are hoping you pass by comp you have to attend the exam.

by the sounds of things you probably already have a enough to pass by comp if you other module marks add upp, you *generally* only need 25% in a module for pass by comp.

check the pass papers to get an idea of what you are up against

Why wouldn't you sit it? Even if you think you're going to have to repeat the exam, you might get away with it and pass this time. And if you want to repeat anyway you can always choose to - then you'll have the advantage of already having sat an exam in the module, knowing what it's going to be like second time around.

But you mightn't even have to do that repeat anyway ;)

It wouldn't make sense not to give it a bash, as said before, you will be likely to pass by compensation,.

Unless it's a particularly difficult module, 1 day of study is more than enough to get 40%+ in the exam. Go for it.

There once was a boardsie (not mentioning any *cough*banquo*cough* names) that decided to flip a coin to see whether or not s/he should do the exam. As the nerds that lived with Homer when he went to college said, cram like you've never crammed before! CA is worth what, 30%? So you've already gotten 18%. You'd just need 32% in the actual exam to pass the module.

Go. No point not going and best of luck.

Also, some modules don't just let you do the repeat if you haven't actually sat the original exam unless you have told them in advance that you can't do the exam that day or you have a medical certificate. May as well do it, it's good practice if nothing else.

    GO TO THE EXAM!!!!

I just ad to make that clear. Even if you do badly, do not skip the first exam. Like others have said, some modules won't let you take a repeat if you didn't attempt the original exam. Also, study your ass off. It seems daunting, but the pass is very achievable, especially if you have 18% going in.

    Do the exam.

I know one girl who stayed up all night studying and then skipped the exam. Thought she'd pass it in August. She failed. She had to do another year because of it. Waste of money when she could have passed it first time around.
