Employers insurance?

While at work my phone along with money from my wallet was stolen. These were in the staff area of my work as the policy in my place of work is that phones are not allowed be on your person.

I reported it to the guards and my insurance company only to be told by the insurance company that as it was 'out of arms reach' that Im not covered. Unfortunately I dont have all risks on my home insurance so not covered under that either.

I was wondering what are the chances of claiming from my employers insurance? There are lockers in the staff area which we have to pay for on a yearly basis but as I only work every now and again I never bought one. I think this is where I'll be caught.
There was a staff member at the front desk who saw nothing, its meant to be his job to watch peopl coming in and notice anything out of the ordinary. The door down the back was left open by this staff member which we assume is how they got in.

    Any advice?
