folks have a 07 nissan tiida with remot central locking. I've found that more often than not the other half cant open the front passanger side door from the inside, but it opens perfectly fine from the outside. sometimes when i trigger the lock it will often bake what sounds like a grinding noise.

also are these parts interchangible? by that i mean would nay lock from a nissan of that yeat fit?

A lot of the parts would be the same. On Tiida's/Micra's/Notes there is a couple of small components in around the door lock/latch which can come out of place leading to difficulty opening the door from the inside or outside.

well i guess that it opens from the inside it means its not the cabling. add to that its intermittant so i guess something is falling out of place

could it not be the auto-lock system that activates when car is driven

when car stops, the drivers car when opened will unlock all doors

if only the passenger is getting out then the button on dash needs pressing before getting out !! might be worth trying brfore pulling doors apart

there'sno dash button for locking doors on the car. there is a button on teh driver side door. But if that was engaged it would mean that every time someone tried to open the door it wouldn't open, but for teh past week its been working perfectly fine then this morning it failed again.
