    Folks,

Friend has an old Sony Cybershot DSC-P93A camera with a 32 MB Memory stick.

When boot camera up it says "no files in this folder" and wont do anything else. I check the memory stick through a Card reader and DCIM folder is there. I reformatted it through Setup option on camera but stll get same error on startup. Is the memory stick corrupted?

Could well be, a 32meg card must be fairly ancient so it could have worn out :o , Try another stick, if that fails its likely the camera is at fault. you could also try formatting it using the card reader instead

Tried another memory stick and it worked fine. Also formatted using the card reader but still get same message. Memory card worn out looks like the likeliest option.

Yeah not to be trusted, flash memory does wear out over time
