what to buy in Portugal?

    heading to albufeira soon, just wondering what are good buys, is it cheaper to buy some things in airport before we go, gifts, etc

    buy nothing in airports of either country! irelands is crazy expensive and faro is proportionately worse again.

    things are generally noticeably cheaper in Portugal yet their airport is on a par with ours.
    whisky and it seems all alcohol is a good bit cheaper yonder.
    fags the same, crazy taxes!

    ++1 Buy nothing until you get there. I see people buying flip-flops in airports and I just laugh!

    Buy port. Wine (green particularly). Some leather goods (though mostly from Morocco).

    not sure on that but i would presume so. if you go to the large supermarkets it probably will be. local stores will rip the arse outa ye!
