First date - what's the story?

So went on a first date last week. He's a nice enough guy, I thought it went well but I'm not overly familiar with the whole dating scene so I'm not sure what I'm doing.

I don't feel that there was all that much of a connection between us, like although it was enjoyable I don't feel blown away with an urge to meet him again.

Am I overanalysing this? We weren't in contact over the weekend but I text yesterday and we exchanged a few back and forth, I didn't reply to the last one though. Sorry I know that probably sounds awful but I just kind of feel like I'm going through the motions

Why bother getting in contact with him again then?
If you don't have an urge to see him again after a first date, then most likely, it's not going to go anywhere.

Thanks for the reply - I know this makes sense, as I said I rarely venture into the dating scene so I just wanted to see if people thought I was expecting too much too early and if I should give it a bit more of a chance without expecting fireworks from the get go!

First date and feeling like this? I'd probably leave it and move on
