I have been thinking of getting a wide angle lens for a while now and would be grateful for a bit of advice on which one to get.

I see 3 lens which would suit me,
    Sigma 10-20mm F4-5.6 EX DC
    Tamron 10-24 10-24mm F3.5-4.5 Di II
    Tokina 12-24mm F4 AT-X Pro

In terms of quality which one would you recommend? There is about €40 in difference of prices.

I would be using them maily for landscape/ and cityscape

    Thanks in advance
    LeoB

I wouldn't get the Tamron or Tokina. Perhaps this one as another alternative?

The sigma lens is a quality bit of kit in my opinion, have used one several times and I love it for big wide seascapes.

I use the Sigma 10-20 4-5.6 myself and I love it. I really do adore it, but it's a strange one.

Used in natural light and outdoors with flash, it's grand, but for some reason, using flash indoors with it, direct or bounced, and the colour temperature on the photos always seems to be very warm. I've no idea why this is and it's an issue I've no had with any other lens.

Now, I should point out i mean shoe-mounted flash. I've used the 10-20 with multi-flash studio-style set ups and it renders everything fine, but it doesn't work well with flash indoors if its a single unit. Photos can tend to look a bit grubby under those circumstances too.

I've no idea what causes this. I find it very strange (that said, it's grand if you figure out the flash temperature and dial in a custom temperature before taking the photo).

I still love it though. I've learned to work around it's flaws.

I should have said I would be using it with a Canon eos 40d

I doubt you could afford that Nikon one anyway. It's over €100,000.
