House Insurance is up for renewal at the end of the month. Looking for at quotes and have come up with a dilemma.

Our house was originally built around 1920 but fully renovated and extended upwards and outwards in 1998. When I put a build date of 1998 t
he price of insurance drops by almost 160euros

    So should I declard 1920 or 1998?

1920, or run the risk of a claim being denied.

Totally agree.Any claim made will be void due to the wrong build date being in your insurance contract

Tell them out straight. Argue like hell and see what happens. As long as you "disclose", you cannot be accused of non-disclosure!
