My bro wants to buy an Audi A3, does anybody know anything about this car?

Can you give me any other information that he needs to know about Audi's? I have no experience with them at all.

    Cheers Fi

8v engine, slow as a wet day, seriously overpriced.

To be honest he is not a petrol head at all, he is coming from a clapped out Toyota Starlet..... :D

He just want something that looks a little but decent.

I'd go for the Golf equivalent. I'd imagine you could get a newer, better specced Golf for the money. Go for the 1.6 though. :pac:

Why bother? Less saleable, and the 1.4 in the mark 5 is a completely different kettle of fish.

Also, if it's the "the 1.4 is bog slow compared" that's a crap argument, as the 1.4 Golf was probably one of the top sellers here.

Not sure how he feels about golfs but I will find out. If you see any cars that you think might be better value for that money can you post them up for me?

Purely an example, but a newer FSi engine, newer face and newer car.

The 1.4 IS bog slow. It's woefully underpowered for the Golf in my opinion. Just because a car is top seller in Ireland doesn't make it ''fast'' either. :)

I wouldn't bother with the Golf or Audi actually I'd have something like this. Far better car in nearly every way than a VAG product,

5k would buy a lot of car these days, an early TT, a nice 3 series coupé, and on and on ...

I said something like that. Didn't have to be that exact car. Was an example of showing what's out there.

That one above has been on donedeal for absolutely ages at this stage, hence my reason for not linking it. It does look good in the photos but I'm curious as to why it's still for sale months later.

    They're a bad seller?

Maybe so but I'm more inclined to think that there could be something wrong with it. It has been sale for absolutely months at this stage and the price seems to be about right. I'd say the mileage scares people off tbh.

I know your just showing this as an examle of a better deal but I would not go near an add that blanks the reg and doesn't give a name with the contact details
