Just a quick question here. Scenario on insurance payment via a credit card. Say someone uses your card to pay their insurance and you forgot you gave them permission to use it. Could that persons insurance be void as a result of paying their insurance without card holders permission?

I let somone use my card maybe 2 months ago and I was intouch with an insurance company regarding a payment I simply forgot about. Then suddenly I remembered but what would have happened if I still couldn't remember? Kinda feel guilthy thinking I could have got somone into abit of hassle because of my stupidity :o

If you look at the T&C's of your credit card you will see knowingly giving your card details to someone else is pretty much the same as handing them a blank cheque they can use anytime they see fit. You could say they fraudently used your credit card but as you hadn't reported it until 2 months after the event it's unlikely the credit card company would listen to you.

what about the insurance company who took payment for the policy? could they have voided the policy if they knew payment had not been authorised by me the card holder?

So if i buy something over the phone and give someone my details, they're allowed use it?
