Failing Maths

(Sorry if this has been already posted)

So, the school year is drawing to a close, and I can safely say that I will not be able to pass an ordinary level maths papers. I want to do general arts in NUIG next year and I am wondering while maths isnt a requirement do I still need to pass it, because my maths teacher keeps telling me if I fail maths, I'll fail my entire leaving cert and will have to repeat? If this is the case, is it worth dropping to foundation? Or do they even accept foundation?

I've tried to ask my guidance councilor these things, but she's never in and when she is, its impossible to get a real answer from the woman!

    Thanks in advance

There is no maths requirement for arts in the NUI colleges, (as long as you don't want maths to be one of your first-year subjects, of course!) So it doesn't matter from that perspective what grade you get in OL maths, or whether you sit FL maths, or indeed whether you sit any maths exam at all, as long as you meet the other entry requirements and get the required points.
