I have witnessed this happening with some cheapo 'blue diamond' tv's that where on sale around Christmas, but they were freezing due to dect phones being to close, cheers:confused:

What type of aerial are you using - indoor or outdoor?

Is it a high end smartphone or a bog standard phone?
Do you have an amplifier for your TV signal?

thanks for getting back, my amp and 4 way booster are in an attic far away, the aeriel is on the chimney, and the phone is just an old nokia type no internet, like i said i have seen this happen with dect phones on the cheapo tv's (all cables double screened too)

If the signal is strong enough at the antenna, and if the boosters are the modern type which block mobile phone signals then using a mobile should not be a problem. Does the picture go blocky when for example you watch a DVD from a DVD player? If so it may be the TV itself.

Have you another TV in the house you can try to see if it is the TV or the signal.

Generally if the signal is very strong then the picture will not go blocky. If the signal to the TV is a bit weak, then a nearby mobile could cause problems.

I would say first step is to confirm if it is indeed that make of TV and not something else. It probably is something else, such as a weak signal arriving to the TV.

If you really have problems you can get special channelised boosters and special channel group aerials. These are much less likely to be affected by mobile phones.

Let us know what you try and how you get on.
