In uk I use postcodes and everything is easy peasy but now back home I am having a nightmare with my 760, it seems to have got worse and worse. Usually I go away staying in hotels and when a few miles away hit the points of interest find hotel and hit go. all very well but now on quite a few occasions, hotel not appearing until I am outside it! examples, north star, dublin, gibson, dublin, maldron cardiff lane dublin, and a few others. What is wrong? maps are on that lifetime deal and i am sure they want me off it ie buy a new device.

Also I cant seem to enter a location properly anymore. It seems to predict where I want to go and I cant amend it. Best example is THE GIBSON HOTEL at the point.

If anyone can say what I am doing wrong please tell me. It needs a new battery but its about 4/5 years old however I am rel
uctant to be driven by garmin ie battery non replaceable stuff, sign up for lifetime and then unit goes wonky. i have reset it twice. i want to use it in canada later this year and it is actually very good, phone through car speakers etc.

I have a 760 mysef and overall I happy with it. I not attuned to using postcodes so I always use coordinates in the form xx.xxxxxx

I locate where I want to go using yahoo / google maps. For absolute conformation i'll go to streetview.

To get the coordinates off googlemaps, just right click and select "Whats Here ?" and save the coordinates as a favourite.
