his dream? "my dream is to play again for Glasgow Rangers, but their situation is pretty bad. For me it's not a matter of money...I'd go there tomorrow".

He played with Rangers? Did not know that!

That's pretty impressive he goes there on little pay. Still can't like the guy though...

Gattuso is a pussy who thinks he's hard. I think it was Steven gerrard who said he's as scary as a pussy cat

Don't Rangers have a 12 month transfer ban....I presume it includes free transfers?

Unless they've appealed it, and are able to make transfers in the meantime.

I mean what's your definition of hard, beating up random dj's in nightclubs? The guy is an absolute warrior on the pitch whose bravery and commitment levels for his team eclipse the vast majority of players.

I'm jus saying what gerrard said in his book. I think he was trying to say that many people find him intimidating on the pitch but he didn't and found him as scary as a pussy cat. Personally I always thought gattuso was over rated

gattuso in his prime was so tenacious, so passionate, so hungry. Im sure nobody looked forward to playing against him in midfield. A world cup, a couple of leagues, couple of champions leagues....gerrard can fúck off

He's the type of character some people almost love to hate for some reason. I always respected his loyalty to the clubs he played with.

I'm not sure but I also heard he does a lot for charity and with youth projects. If gets a crazy look in his eye sometimes like the monk in mean machine, your dead.

Ah yes, the 3 or so games Gerrard played vs Gattuso in his career are sound basis for declaring him a pussy. But hey, if Gerrard said it, it must be true right?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,507 ✭✭✭clubberlang12

Like him or not, Gattuso has been an immense player for the type of player he is. Obviously not one gifted with the skills of Messi, Baggio, etc but his commitment, determination and pure doggedness on the pitch is without question. Always reminded me of a little jack russell or terrier constantly nibbling at your heels and anyone who has played football themselves will know that these are one of the hardest types of players to play against, never giving youm a moment on the ball and never knowing when to give up. In his prime, i would think he would have walked into most midfields in any club in the world. I'd rather play against a Gerrard-esque player any day of the week then that little lunatic. "Gerrard said it in his book"......don't make me laugh. My only regret is that Joe Jordan didn't deck him that time :D

The bitterness about Gattusso from a couple of sets of supporters would be funny if it wasn't so utterly stupid.

"Gerrard said it" yeah, have you not got eyes in your head, or do you only watch the EPL?

Gattusso was second only to Keane for his tenaciousness and bite when playing. The absolute passion and commitment he displayed when playing is something that no player comes anywhere close to in today's game.

The man should be held up as an example to every kid.

going to be an emotional afternoon in milan with so many legends bowing out on the same day...

Seedorf, Nesta, Inzaghi, Gattuso and not so much Van Bommell but still

Gattuso aint the only legend leaving Milan this summer:

    Nesta
    Inzaghi
    Seedorf
    Van Bommell
    Zambrotta - not confirmed yet

All Quality players in their prime!

For me one of the best footballers of the last 20 years. Never seems to get as much credit as he rightly deserves but just look at what he has won and who he has played for and to still play to such a high level at his age is phenomenal.

The same Gerrard who made a decision to stay at Liverpool on the back of threats from others?

i agree, LOVE watching him when he is on his game, so calm, so elegant on the ball. Made it look so easy. end of an era

Similarly to Keane his passion has spilled over a fair few times and has done things in fits of rage that he'd regret an hour later but if you took that edge from his game he wouldn't be the same player. He's also the worst watcher of football I've ever seen, you'd get a lot of laughs just watching him watch a game and all the emotions he goes through.

Absolute legend in a Milan and Italy shirt, shame his legs went last few years, but his importance during the early- mid 2000's can't be understated.

The Gattuso quote about going back to Rangers is an old quote. Gattuso won't be going back to Rangers.

he just said yesterday during his last interview as AC Milan player.
He has stated that playing with the Rangers would be his dream (his wife is scottish) but he also know it is difficult given the current circumstances with the club.

From the Milan games I've seen this year, I actually think Seedorf will be the biggest immediate loss. Class act.

I don't know how Milan intend to replace him they might find more technically gifted players but they probably won't find another that can inspire an entire team to move up a couple of gears on his own beyond what they should be capable of.

maybe that was just gerrard's opinion of him. How exactly do you know what gerrard thinks is hard?

Gattuso was a top player in his prime, there shouldn't be anyone questioning that and if they are, they are clueless.

    I support arsenal btw

if gerrard think's he's like a pussy cat, then how the hell does anyone know for sure thats not his opinion of him?

you'd hardy think the people we know & consider hard, that mike tyson would consider them hard too. Or maybe he would, you can't really judge what other people think

& what about the attitude "you know nothing, you only watch the EPL" etc. etc.

Flamini, Aqualani, Seedorf, Zambrotta, Inzaghi, Nesta, van Bommel and Gattuso all leaving next month.

Will miss seeing Inzaghi, Nesta, Gattuso and Seedorf most, their importance to Carletto's era cannot be over stated, all world class in their prime.

Gattuso played for Rangers very briefly, less than a full season I believe.
Nice goodbye by the Milan fans btw, huge shirts in the crowd with Gattuso, Inzaghi and Nesta's names.

Milan losing some great players today, particularly Seedorf, who could still do a job for some team. Nesta struggled against Barcalona and is probably past it.

Gattuso, good player, lion-hearted, bit of a Makalale or Mascarano type player, with the job to break down opposing attacks, which he was very good at, dogged and determind, never gave up.

Interesting to see how Milan do next season or who they bring in.

End of an era anyways with the loss of those players, so many of who were crucial to Milan CL and Italian national success.

The Joe Jordan incident was truly pathetic, though.

Drogba does a lot for charity, but he is not exactly the classiest guy on the pitch. Means nothing about liking a person, or not.

Real end of an era, my 2 strongest memories of Gattuso:

When AC played Juve in the Chapmions League final, you could see all the players expecting penalties towards the end of extra time but there was Gattuso running around like a crazy man, still chasing down every ball.

When they played Barca a couple of years later in the semis and Ronaldinho was at the top of his game, Gattuso didn't give him any space for 2 legs except for 1 slip which led to a Barca winner.

The team that started against Liverpool, not bad at all.
Dida, Cafu, Stam, Nesta ,Maldini, Pirlo, Gattuso, Seedorf, Kaká, Shevchenko, Crespo

Yeah, sure what would Gerrard know, he's only a professional footballer thats played against him. Your opinion is definately more valid.
Drogba does a lot for charity, but he is not exactly the classiest guy on the pitch. Means nothing about liking a person, or not.

Most players do plenty for charity afaik. You just dont hear about it unless the charty wants to use the players fame to publicise it too (Roy Keane) or they have their own foundation and push it publicly to raise money.
