I started out with the Lidl Tablet and it lasted about four years of constant use. It still works but the pen seems to have given up the ghost. It took me about two weeks to convert to using it but since then I have been hooked.

Recently I upgraded to the Wacom when the old pen died. It is a lot more solid than the Lidl copy but also a LOT more expensive.

Who else is addicted to Tablets?

I was just cleaning up my desk at home today and noticed my Wacom Graphire 4 under a pile of papers (and dust). I can't remember the last time I used it, but I do know it's the second one I've owned (and haven't used). The first one had the old ADB connection from before USB that Apple used to use on the old Macs.

I once worked in a company that gave us web designers some massive A3 sized Wacom slabs. They were bigger than the monitors we had at the time (19" CRTs). I'm sure they cost a fortune, but none of us ever used them. I guess it's time for me to admit that I'm just not a tablet person!

As I typed this, my 3 years old daughter came up to me and asked me if she could draw on my computer. So maybe the tablet will get some use today after all.:)

You have to take the Mouse away for a couple of weeks.

Do you use the tablet/pen for everything (i.e instead of a mouse) or just for retouching?

My wife brought home an Intuos 3 from work before, that had a wireless mouse that you could use with it (along wit a pen). So the tablet effectively became a mouse mat. But it was only the 4x6 version, and felt much too cramped to be useful with the mouse at all.

I have a wacom that I only ever use for Photoshop work which is rare. Unfortunately the resolution on my new 27" monitor is is too big for the tablet so the pen reaches the edge on the tablet before it does on the screen which is a pain. Other than that it's brilliant.

I use the tablet for everything. No longer have a mouse.

@p&b. You should be able to adjust that with the driver.

Same here. Neck pain & wrist problems are gone now (caused by using mouse)

I use the first IPad tablet. It fantastic but frustraiting now the new iPad has better features, like camera etc. but they still don't run Flash. They are also expensive.
If you want a cheap tablet check out on www.alibaba.com for one but buyer be careful.

We're talking about graphics tablets while the fanboys are letting everyone know they've bought an expensive toy.

I have a widescreen tablet made by Trust, I normally only use it for when I'm drawing because I'm so used to using a mouse for photo touch-ups. It's a good bit of kit and handy for doing things like dodging and burning. The only problem is because its about 36cm wide I sometimes have to really strain to go from end of a photo to the other, if you are using them to draw with then they are brilliant but for photos most of the time a regular mouse works fine. :)
