I'm doing P1 in June and I must say its tough getting through all that text. Does anyone have any tips on the most important bits to learn (i know internal control is one) and any other help at all would be great.

    Many thanks :)

The key for the Ps is applying the knowledge and systems rather than listing, defining and describing as was the case in the F level exams. Therefore, it's even more important to do the past exam questions and feel confident with them.

Echoing what SBWife says, have a reasonable overall understanding of all the topics and a good grasp on what you feel is the important ones. Then practice as many questions as you can and revisit the areas you have difficulty answering questions on.

Be able to reference important models (eg.Mendelows Matrix for stakeholder mapping), important contributors (eg.Turnbull for IC) and the important UK CC 2 guidelines (eg.A.2.1 for seperation of CEO/Chairman as these can earn easy marks when referenced to.

    Thanks a mill guys.

I've done very little of the book so I'm wondering at this stage if I mainly concentrated on the Kaplan Exam Kit would that suffice??

Print off the syllabus on the ACCA site as well and be sure to know all the frameworks, as you apply them to the past questions. At this point it's best to focus on actual questions rather than trying to learn from the text but you need to make sure you have some knowledge of the bulk of the syllabus. P1 because it's not numerate is harder to judge whether you are prepared or not than many of the numbers based exams.

    Hi
make sure that you've read all technical articles. Some are summaries of important topics.
    Hope that helps. :)
