Hi guys I'm looking at buying a 2008 ford focus from either NI or Uk I've a few questions.

What are people's opinion on the 1.6TD and 1.8TD ?

VRT will I be stopped on UK plates straight of way or is there a window period to pay VRT ?

Also what would the vrt be I keep getting €1500 ?

Any help or advice would be great thanks

You must book your appointment with the NCT centre within 7 days of the vehicle entering the State and have completed the registration within 30 days of the vehicle entering the State.

VRT depends on a few other things. Its basically 20% of what the revenue say its worth with an adjustment for emissions. €1787 For a 1.8 TD CI EDGE 115BHP 05DR with 50,000 miles

I used to have an '08 Focus 1.6TD up until last year. Excellent car and very frugal if not thrashed. I was regularly getting over 550 miles of mostly urban driving out of one tank, 650 if on longer journeys. Would definitely recommend.
