    Hi.

Bare with me I am not a computer savvy person.

I have a work laptop that I have personal photos, music, windows media and Itunes on. Plus some Excel templates I will need in the future with macros applied. Thing is I have to hand back the laptop and would like to know the best way to keep the personal stuff so I can put on my new laptop. I don't have the comfort of the company IT guys to do it for me anymore.

What is the easiest and quickest way to do this.
    Thanks

    https://www.dropbox.com/

There's a handy video to let you know how this works.

Alternatively you could just copy the files to a USB key or external harddrive?

Use a USB stick (or an external USB hard drive if you have a lot of data) if your confident that you know the location of all the files.

Alternatively you could use the file and settings transfer wizard ( assuming your moving from windows xp) and then restore on to the new laptop.

The company IT people, rightly, won't be overly concerned about your private data.

Thanks Guys. I think I'll go with the USB stick.

One last question, Laptopdeals.ie. Do you know if they are reputable?

I only need a laptop for email, music and surfing and the prices fit my budget.

    Thanks again.

Be careful - the Excel files and macros may belong to the company, not to you, even if you created the macros. Make sure you're not taking any confidential information accidentally.
