I always buy them locally, and believe most people do. Are you looking for bulk purchase?

ebay or autobulbsdirect.co.uk if you are looking for a specific brand otherwise avoid the cheap Far East stuff you will be replacing them every few months.

I've found motor factors very competitive for bulbs. €24 for 4 h7 night breakers in autopart dundrum.

Local motor factors shop sold me a h7 bulb once for €11.
Exactly the same make bulb I found on ebay for about €1 the same evening.

So no - I don't buy locally anymore.

I gave up selling bulbs when customers couldn't understand why I refused to fit them FOC...

Nightbreakers are good but just remember due to their nature they have a shorter life span than a regular bulb.

Its a PITA changing a bulb in my car so I use Osram Long Life bulbs, guaranteed for 3 years.

I only buy them, when i need them, so prefer to have the here and now rather than wait for delivery. I drive unlit road every night, so no way i would leave it for next week.
As for the price - crazy one, never paid that much.

Suprised to see so many people buy them online. Maybe i am lucky, but only replaced one tail light bulb in last 2 years, so never thought of buying spares in advance. Wouldn't be able to change it in dark anyway, so for me it is just quick trip to halfords, and anything between 2minutes to1 hour to change.
But after reading that online price for h7 was 1 euro, i may buy some to have them just in case. Makes sense. But are those long lasting/super bright bulbs worth the extra cash, or is it some marketing behind them? Never think to much about bulbs to be honest. For me it's just a bulb...

Having fitted night-breakers last September and replaced 1 last Tuesday I can say they are no better than a standard Phillips bulb for light. I am now driving with 1 new phillips and one 9 month old osram, I will never put osram in any car again. I had Phillips xtreme in for 2 years before they went.

OP, local motor would be where I would go. You can get cheap bulbs that will do the job, or you can pay an extra few quid and get a bulb that will last a good bit longer and give better light.

Only when they have them in stock, which is usually a couple of times a year..... so, no use unless you are buying in advance of needing them.

I always get these when they are in, decent light output and they last ok as well.

Although the last ones i got in Aldi were the 'xenon blue' ones, which are the exact same as the '50% brighter' ones i had. Never had the 'daylight' version but i would wager they too are exact same!

I got a pair of Philips Blue Vision 501 parking light blubs once, they arent really blue, they are blue glass but are more really white then the usual yellowish colour when switched on. But they were pretty cheap of ebay and lasted ages and looked really good. They were also a lot brighter than regular 501 bulbs.

I drive with my dips on all the time. Its the way i roll :pac:

I usually keep a few spares in the boot, they always seem to pop when thre're out of stock
