Painting external walls after plastering

How long after plastering should I leave the external walls of a new house before painting.

Is it a week, a year, somewhere in between?

Or, if you painted fairly soon after plastering, how did the paint job hold up?

    Thanks

    Bb

In my opinion, you should wait at least a week for strength development of the render, and then wait for at least two or three consecutive days of dry weather. Choose a good quality paint and you should have no problems. The instructions on your paint tin should give some additional guidance.
