    Ok.

Not sure of whether to go to one or the other, but thinking I could combine both. Here is what I was thinking:

Fly to Italy, go to Bologna to visit a mate for a few days.

Take a train over to Biarritz? Would this be too much or too expensive? I would love to take in scenery on a train across France.

Fly to Biarritz from Italy? Hang in Biarritz for a few days and then slip into the North of Spain, to San Sebastian.

If I were to get a train from Bologna to Biarritz, I would give myself a day or so to do it, maybe stop half way

It's a 12 hour trip according to Google planner, might be less on a train. I travelled North to South Italy before, so would know the journey. I could also get an over night train too, but have to look into costs.

Thinking of trying to do this over 10 days to 2 weeks....
