Can some one tell me if iplayer and the like on a Humax freesat box needs a sat signal to work in other words does the feed come through the broad band or does one need both the sat signal and the broadband . I hope I make some sense . I am wondering if I can use my box via the internet to access these channels as always thank you .

You have to hook it up to the internet for iplayer etc. Iplayer doesnt work in Ireland though.

I was assuming that as you were working through a UK address it would work , Can you see where I am coming from . Similar to an ex pat route.

You can hook up your humax to your router by ethernet cable or home plugs if the router is in a different room.

If you set up a VPN (google it) on your router you can then use the iplayer. The ITV player should work as I believe it is not IP region specific.

The question is will the humax box work if I plug an ethernet cable in to it without a sat feed , I need a new lnb and my router is along way from the tv. I was hoping some one could tell me so if I link it up it will not be a waste of time.

What region is your Freesat box set to? Just checked again on mine and it works fine.
