Aero Bars for a Road Bike

Anyone put clip on Aero ~Bars onto their road bike? I need something that will help against head winds as I do a lot of Solo riding. My biggest fear is the balance of getting off them to your breaks and gears.

I did it for a couple of spins last year. It was hard to get used to at first but I got very comfortable after 20km or so. I wouldnt use them in a group spin because of the safety issues, braking delay etc. I will most likely never compete in a time trial so I decided to stop using them. Having said that I think I got a KOM on Strava from Enfield to Kilcock using clip on aero bars.

When battling a headwind on a solo spin it's best to adopt this position...

Some people find them comfortable and fast. I think they are just wrong. The UCI should just ban them altogether along with all the other stupid aero gear, and then we wouldn't even have a reason to train on them.

I use them all the time. Even on the commute so I added brake levers...

Can't remember but it's just a matter of a pair of crosstop brake levers, extra long brake cables and some extra cable outers. You end up with a long run of brake cable crossing over the front of the aero bars and curving back. I don't think you could easily mate a pair of bar-end levers in with your existing brakes.
