    Use: 30 mins swimming casually

Are shortys better in warmer climbs?
Better to get full one if I just can afford one?

    What's your opinion ?

You shouldn't give a damn what you look like.

Wear Speedos and the general public will think it's disgusting, wearing boardshorts and the good swimmers won't think you're serious.

Take a wetsuit to the beach and the aul farts who swim all year around will tell you you're a big blouse.

Wear a watersports wetsuit for swimming and the traithletes will think you're an amateur.

You said 30 mins - What times of the year? How often? What distance.

If you're having a recreational dip with the family down the beach on a nice weekend during the summer a shortie would do the job for 30 mins.

Full length 3mm watersports wetsuit would do for longer summer use with the added buoyancy.

If you expect to swim significant distance a water sports suit will be an exercise in frustration, and you'll need a swimmig specific suit. The tradeoff here is that it's more delicate and easy to damage.

    Amen to that

In conclusion it's much warmer in a full suit, down side other then being delicate is the price and flexibility in the shoulders

My general advice if you are thinking of competing in open water swimming races don't bother with a wet suit and just man up ;P
if you want to do triathlons go for a long sleeve (optionally a long john will do the job if you don't want to sacrifice any flexibility in your shoulder and want to have a better feel for the water) shorties are for swimming instructors who spend a lot of time in the pool without moving much, or people who are cold in 20+ C water somewhere in Spain ;)

Im might just go with a 3/2 full length to get back on the sea horse in Irish waters.

Im just getting back to swimming and was never that great to begin with.
Going to see if I take to the water again after years away from it.

Id like to swim for 30 - 60 mins max to begin with and take it from there.

Man up ..... yeah I know. I want it to be part enjoyable and less of an endurance test.

I hate board shorts for swimming - they drag and soak up huge amounts of water when you get out of the pool/lake/sea.

    Speedos for me every time.
