    Hi there,
Im in need of some advice on living in Cork city for the summer. A couple of friends and I are thinking of moving for the summer season. We all have cafe/restaurant/bar experience and are just looking for something to pay the rent and go out with. Whats the jobs situation like there for the summer? Do many people hire? Also whats going out in Cork like? Thanks!

Its nearly middle of may. If you need the summer job, then you should have started looking already. Not many of the jobs around, i'd say you are lucky if even one of you finds job for just summer like that. And even that might be just part-time.
Don't count on just walking into some place, asking if they need someone and hope to be hired (although you might get very very very lucky to be in right place at right time) - every place in cork city have people walking in like that daily and dropping in cv's. There is even a shop in Parnell place that has a sign up that they can't handle any more cv's and ask people not to bring them.
Other than that, Cork is a great place to be for summer.
